HOW WE SUPPORT MISSIONS HERE AT CHRIST’S COMMUNITY CHURCH

When you check Local Missions, Regional or Global Missions on the envelope in the seat back pockets, funds are distributed accordingly.
 
 

LOCAL MISSIONS – missionaries and/or organizations we support with volunteers and/or in-kind donations locally.

Chayah Ministries of Arizona – Serving Arizona’s incarcerated youth through volunteer led three-day weekend retreats at Black Canyon and Adobe Mountain secure schools in North Phoenix. Teaching and demonstrating unconditional love in such a way that God is manifested through Jesus Christ.  For more information or to volunteer contact Kathy at mktwitch@cox.net

CarePortal Ministry – This is a unique ministry that creates a partnership between the Department of Child Safety (DCS) and our church. When a family in the DCS system needs something, they list it on the CarePortal site and if a member of our church can meet that need, we let DCS know. Society of St. Vincent De Paul Programs include services for the homeless, medical and dental care for the working poor, charity dining rooms, thrift stores, a transitional housing shelter and general assistance for individuals in need. As a church we volunteer the first Thursday evening of every month at the Family Dining Room. For more information or to volunteer contact Micki at svdp@cccaz.org

Pure Heart Food Pantry – Pure Heart operates a food pantry to provide assistance to families within our community.  The ministry depends on donations of dry goods and volunteers to assist guests with registration and preparing food boxes during the weekly outreaches (Tuesdays and Fridays).  To volunteer or for more information contact Roseanne Minor at rminor@pureheart.org

Marshall Ranch Elementary – Various volunteer opportunities. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Fred at fbates@cccaz.org or the school office at 623-486-6450.

Sunburst Elementary School – Various volunteer opportunities, including a program for seniors to read to students.  If you are interested in volunteering, contact Serena at sbeckman@cccaz.org or the school office at 602-896-6400.

 
 
 

REGIONAL MISSIONS – missionaries and/or organizations we partner with financially and with volunteers in North America.

Manantiel en el Desierto Church – Serving with Pastor Gilberto and Gabby Osorio in Naco, Sonora, Mexico. Join with us throughout the year as we make weekend and extended visits to this small border town south of Bisbee to minister with and to Manantiel en el Desierto Church and the people of Naco. Mark and Miriam Vellinga – Serving in Mescalero, NM with the Mescalero Apache tribe in the south central mountains of New Mexico on a reservation that covers more than 460,000 acres. The Reformed Church in America began its ministry with the Mescalero Apaches in 1907, and Mescalero Reformed Church was organized with nineteen members two years later. GLOBAL MISSIONS – missionaries and/or organizations and/or mission co-workers we support financially around the world.

Keith and Denise Krebs – Serving in Bahrain as chaplain for the American Mission Hospital providing spiritual encouragement for patients and staff. In addition, he is serving as assistant pastor of the English language congregation of the National Evangelical Church ministering to Christians of many races, nationalities, and denominational backgrounds. JP and Katy Sundararajan – Serving as the India-Asia director for Audio Scripture Ministries, which works with national organizations around the world to produce and distribute audio recordings of God’s Word in a variety of languages. Audio Scriptures give people access to the Bible in their own language, even when written translations aren’t available or the people are illiterate.
